When we thought about our work and how to best capture it in a single name, mythology spoke to us - Mythology transcends time and space, its stories are aspirational and give us hope. We want them to be true because they reveal both the struggle and the path to overcoming.
Pomona was a Roman Goddess who was independent and did not rely on a Greek counterpart. She was a protector and cared for others. She was a cultivator and achieved abundance for herself and others.
Our ‘Collective’ is designed to cultivate and empower its members to share their special gifts with our community in order to remove barriers for women and children - thus achieving spiritual and economic flourishing. We know that real change for women, children, and families happens at an upstream, systemic level which is why we drew inspiration from a figure that was committed to tending the orchards and fields to ensure that they bore the fruit that would enable communities to be sustained and thrive.
